We are the only alternative flooring REAL grass supplier. Wowgrass is grown without soil, meaning there is no mud or mess when installing into Venues and events.
A Whole Farm Approach
At the Wowgrass base at Lindum Seeded Turf Ltd farm in York, We have taken a “Whole Farm Approach” when it involves been extremely Eco Friendly.
We are members of LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and Environmental Farming production linked to good environmental management. The LEAF Sustainable Farming Review covers the 9 sections of Integrated Farm Management (IFM): Organisation and Planning, Soil Management and Fertility, Crop Health and Protection, Pollution Control and By-Product Management, Animal Husbandry, Energy Efficiency, Water Management, Landscape and Nature Conservation, Community Engagement.
Solar Panels
We actively promote Green energy through the use of Solar Panels that power the sprinklers. Where there’s solar power, remote water pumping becomes a possibility because it enables farmers to bring the energy to the equipment.
Water and irrigation
The Wowgrass turf is grown into a felt which is made from recycled British textiles which is biodegradable.
On Wowgrass projects wherever possible we always try to bring back the maximum amount of Wowgrass to the field where it is laid back down and tended to, to bring it back to a picture of perfect health.
Once the product reaches a stage where the product cannot be revived the Wowgrass is composted down, as it is made from a biodegradable felt.
Fertilisation
The fertilisation process of growing grass has also been modified to be more Eco Friendly through Foliar Applications. Foliar feeding is a common practice of supplying nutrients to plants through their foliage. It involves spraying water-dissolved fertilizers directly on the leaves. Many believe that foliar feeding is favourable over soil application and it is associated with higher yields, and better fruit quality. This is also a technique that reduces wastage of water, this is because the plant will absorb water through its roots. Where fertilizing through the soil is to be used, the nutrients in the soil will most likely leach resulting in a nutrient deficient plant.

Getting involved
At WowGrass HQ we also actively help out with agricultural surveys i.e. measuring rainfall and we recently took part in the Great British bird count.
With Wildflower meadows and woods nearby to also encourage natural habitats for a large variety of species native to the local area.
