Although the summer flower show season is always crazily busy for the team at WowGrass, it’s one of our favourite times of year as we get to see top designers working their magic with WowGrass and wildflower grass supplied by our sister company, Lindum Turf.
The season began with the iconic RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May, where over half of the show gardens and trade stands that used WowGrass won awards, before moving to the beautiful Chatsworth Estate in the heart of Derbyshire’s Peak District, for the first ever RHS Chatsworth Flower Show.
Naturalistic planting was a theme running through many of the Chatsworth show gardens, and one to which wildflower grass lent itself perfectly.
The wildflower grass in the ‘Brewin Dolphin’ garden looked stunning in the sunshine and the Jo Thompson designed garden was deserving of its People’s Choice Best Free Form garden award.
Long WowGrass* was used to great effect in the Butter Wakefield designed ‘Belmond Enchanted Garden’ that won both a Gold award and was named as Best Show Garden in the People’s Choice awards.
Award-winning designer Lee Bestall’s ‘Experience the Peak District and Derbyshire Garden’ used a combination of real, soil-free WowGrass and wildflower grass in his Silver-Gilt winning garden whilst Heywood and Cundie showcased three types of Wildflower grass in their ‘Pick ‘n’ Mix’ garden that was described as ‘a challenging yet whimsical and theatrical installation representing the wild, the arable and the formal as part of a renaissance Baroque garden.’
* Long WowGrass is a special order grass that was grown specifically for this garden. Please call Sophie on 01904 449620 for more information about special order grass.

Here are a few of our favourite photos, including some with a menacing looking sky! It’s hard to believe that they were all taken on the same day!
