The Nave of York Minster was transformed by almost 1,500 square metres of real grass for the York Minster Rose Dinner which was attended by 900 guests.
The York Minster Rose dinner was held to raise as much money as possible for the York Minster Fund, for the conservation and restoration of the fabric of York Minster, with particular emphasis on the spectacular Rose window.
Dr Richard Shephard, York Minster Chamberlain and Director of Development, says, “We are immensely grateful to all at WowGrass for helping to make this dinner a spectacular event. The need for funds to restore and conserve the historic fabric of the Minster is never-ending and I am sure that this extraordinary event will do much to assist us in our work.”
Stephen Fell, Managing Director, WowGrass, said, “As a big supporter of the Minster and the fundraising team who tirelessly raise money to maintain its beauty and splendour for everyone, I was delighted to donate our WowGrass for the York Minster Rose Dinner. The soil-free real grass floor created an incredible experience for the many guests attending this very special evening.”
